Indiana University Northwest Parking Violations and Fines
Our office is located in Hawthorn Hall, Rm. 102, Window #1

University Police patrol the parking lots daily to ensure the safety of the vehicles within them and to enforce parking regulations. Parking tickets will be issued for all offenses. The regulations are internal administrative regulations of the university and do not replace state laws or municipal ordinances.

  1. No valid permit displayed/failure to clearly display permit. Permit must be hung from the rear-view mirror or post/place permit in middle of windshield and tape securely. $10.00
  2. Improper display $ 8.00
  3. Line straddling. Parking across/on yellow lines in designated parking space. $ 8.00
  4. Parking in handicapped zone without special IUN handicap permit $25.00
  5. Meter violation $ 5.00
  6. Moving violation $10.00
  7. Fraudulent or altered permit $40.00
All traffic violations are to be paid within seven days of the date of infraction. After seven days an additional charge of $5.00 is added to the fine. An individual may be checklisted and must pay their obligation prior to registration or obtaining university transcripts. Cash, money order, or personal checks are accepted.

An individual who wishes to appeal a traffic violation may obtain a Traffic Appeal Form from the Parking Services Department. The individual must not be in violation of standard rules and regulations. This form must be completed within seven (7) days of the date of the citation.
